The 25th Jan 2013 sees Mike Plumb step in to replace Carl, who is taking a lengthy break off from the band to concentrate on his family.
The Cellar Dwellers formed in early 2006 with Steve Robinson on vocals, Dave Humphries on guitar and Jon Stroud (Stroudi) on bass.Playing a style of music heavily influenced by Steve`s knowledge of indie songs and his singing style.
Due to various reasons, Dave left the band after a few months to go in another direction. Cal, a long term friend of Stroudi, joined without hesitation 36 hours later in September 2006. Although having known each other for many many years, this was the first time they were to play together. This coming together of talent has cemented a relationship both personally and musically.
After a short rehearsal period the band started gigging in local pubs and soon found popularity increasing rapidly. Unexpectedly, on the night of November 30th 2007, having just walked off stage at a local gig, Steve, the vocalist/guitarist and long term friend, passed away very suddenly.
He was only 45 years old! Cal and Stroudi were shell shocked, but after a memorial gig to raise money for his remaining family, the decision to carry on was taken. Cal with Stroudi, after a brief spell with singer Andy Fergus, have now found Mark, the current singer.
Mark's vocal style and the added ability to play guitar, has taken the band back closer to their original sound and also added a new flavour with songs like "Dreadlock Holiday", "Power of Love" and "Sex on Fire" - The latter by chart stars The kings of Leon. Mark and his easy going attitude fitted in with the band immediately. He also took to the original set list very quickly and after just two months the band are back out on the regular gig circuit.
